Tom served in the Navy, Army, and Air Force while in the armed forces.  He then earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch, where he was selected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and a Magna Cum laude graduate of the honors in research program.  After completing his medical degree, he completed his post-doctoral residency training in Emergency Medicine at the University of Indiana and an MBA from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. After being in private practice for several years, he resigned from his partnership to focus on growing private equity involvement in healthcare. This led to creating platforms designed around physician access to private alternative investments.
