Tom Pennington serves as Senior Vice President at Macquarie Group, where he has held leadership roles for over seven years. With a wealth of experience in the energy and finance sectors, Tom has been instrumental in driving key strategic initiatives and managing high-value portfolios. Since 2019, he has overseen vital aspects of the company's operations from its Houston office, demonstrating exceptional leadership and a keen understanding of the complexities of energy markets.

Before joining Macquarie, Tom gained extensive technical experience as a Reservoir Engineer at XTO Energy and ExxonMobil, where he worked on major projects that contributed to the companies' production growth and operational efficiency. His expertise in reservoir engineering, combined with his strong analytical and strategic thinking, allowed him to excel in roles that required innovative problem-solving and decision-making.

Tom holds an MBA from the prestigious Texas McCombs School of Business, where he developed a broad business acumen that complements his technical background. He also earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. While at Georgia Tech, Tom was the founder and president of the Cash Flow Club, fostering financial literacy and leadership among his peers.

Beyond his professional achievements, Tom is passionate about giving back to the community. He has been actively involved in various volunteer and leadership roles, including serving as President of the DFW chapter of the Fanatical Change Foundation, where he helped drive philanthropic initiatives for disaster and humanitarian relief. Additionally, he has volunteered with Junior Achievement USA, providing mentorship and economic empowerment to young students.

Tom’s diverse experience, from engineering to finance, coupled with his commitment to community service, makes him a dynamic leader at the intersection of energy, business strategy, and social impact.
